This piece reflects my love of both high fashion and historical dress, blending the two to create a distinct visual language and reinterpret the narrative surrounding the French hood. I wanted to explore the garment’s sensual, rebellious quality through a contemporary lens by constructing it in black leather rather than traditional textiles. The material transforms the silhouette into something more alternative and armor-like, suggesting both protection and defiance while maintaining its recognizable Tudor structure.

The design also draws from the aesthetic of classic Chanel crossbody bags through the incorporation of gold chain detailing. By combining Tudor historical dress with modern luxury fashion references, the piece explores themes of femininity, fashion, and power.
